In the eighth year of Tongzhi (1869AD), WEN Xuanyu, the 9th generation ancestor of Wenyongsheng, founded “Yuji Wenyongsheng Distillery” and presented the liquor of “300-year old pit brewed Daqu”, enjoying a high popularity.

ZHANG Shizhao wrote a poem for compliment, “famous liquor developing 300 years”; “The 300-year’s pit of WEN family made Luzhou Daqu world famous.”
